About us

Llansawel Agored was started in 2014, but came into being officially in 2020.

Our campsite has the aim of assisting our social and environmental aims.

Our environmental aims are to improve our environment, this is achieved through tree planting, land management and cleaning/ clearing projects. In 2021 we will have planted some 1000 trees in total. Along with this tree planting we are rewilding our area through a couple of ponds and allowing natural grasses to develop.

Our social aims include a mens shed to assist with wellbeing of others, we also have a canoe club through Canoe Wales which specialises in Open Canoeing. These two social aims generally take part more over the winter months when our campsite is not in use. Through our social aims we have also been able to run two first aid courses for our local community.

This project is driven by Rhys Green MA, PGCE. Rhys is an Outdoor Educator specialising in paddlesport, Rhys is a coach educator for British Canoeing, a mountain leader, a mountain bike coach, archery instructor and bushcraft educator. Passionate about assisting others to enjoy the outdoors this campsite is a catalyst for these aims.
